hello,
I am creating a pre-sale product form and wanted to know if I was able to create a base starting fee such as a deposit? I would like give my customers the options of customizing the product with the price estimates included but with a 50% deposit fee of total.

It is doable to calculate a price with added deposit (that will be just another calculation), and you can use calculation values and pass to payment: https://www.jotform.com/help/275-How-to-Pass-a-Calculation-to-a-Payment-Field
For example:
You can see how it works:
Please check my test form: https://form.jotform.com/90511156233952
Let us know if that worked for you.
Thank you!

ladilykeReplied on February 26, 2019 at 9:43 PMHello,
So I've followed the directions step by step and it seems to not work. It
won't allow me to recreate my products nor duplicate the deposit from your
example. May I have your assistance?

1.) You need to add calculation values to your multiple-choice properties, see screenshot below:
2.) Then add this condition to your form:
Related Guide: How to Perform Form Calculation Using a Widget.
3.) Add another form calculation for the total field:
4.) For the 50% discount field, please remove the computation and just leave it blank.
You can check my demo form here: https://form.jotform.com/90570580457966.
You can also clone the form to know how it was done: How to Clone an Existing Form from a URL.

I checked the calculation in your form, the issue is with "Hair Type" field, since calculation values are not assigned:
So it's always zero:
Also, I'm not sure you want to multiply deposit with Closure type * Hair type, you might want to add to it, like Closure type * Hair type + 50% deposit.
So, for a start, you should assign calculation values for "Hair type" field, then you will have the calculation working properly.
Let us know if you need any further assistance.
Thank you!

ladilykeReplied on April 1, 2019 at 5:43 PMHello,
I’ve added some fields to the form. May you please check to see if I’ve
done it correctly?

I checked the hair texture field and you already have assigned values. However, I do not get the calculation you put in your form. Could you please further explain the workflow and calculation you need and we are the one to fix it for you?
Also, what is “sandbox” mode?
The sandbox mode is similar to the test mode. If you publish the form and the sandbox mode is enabled, your user will not be charged.Just click the message to disable the sandbox mode for your payment field.
Looking forward to your response.

ladilykeReplied on April 1, 2019 at 7:43 PMHello,
Thank you for responding. I must be honest & say this has been by far the
most difficult form I’ve ever tried to create. To simplify, I am selling a
customizable product to my consumers in which after all the calculations a
50% deposit is required if not able to purchase in full. I am trying to get
all the calculations to total at the end of form after custom choose their
options of choice.
Here is an example of what I am trying to create
*https://www.luckebykeisha.com/custom-wigmaking
*
I will make one last attempt to get this right or I will be moving forward
to typeform. Thank you for your assistance

Could you please check if the calculation below is correct?
Unit Type * Closure Type * Hair Texture * Bundle Length * Bundle Length 2 * Bundle length 3 *
Color Services * Shipping = TOTALTOTAL * 0.50 = Discount
The asterisks (*) are multiplication.Based on the example form you have shown to us, there isn't much multiplication there that is why I need to confirm this before we fix the calculation of your form.
We'll wait for your reply.
-
ladilykeReplied on April 1, 2019 at 10:43 PMThank you correct. I’d like to give the option of paying a deposit 50% of
total or pay full amount.
I’m not sure if it is supposed to multiply or add.

jherwinReplied on April 1, 2019 at 11:19 PM
I think the calculation for these is an addition because the total is big if it is multiplication. Can you please check the form now?
Also, I fixed the width of sub-labels and alignment of your bundle length fields. I also added payment option for full payment and 50% downpayment.

ladilykeReplied on April 2, 2019 at 12:43 AMYes! That is exactly how I want it to look. You're the best! Now all we
need to do is get the calculation numbers to be correct. So would we need
to change it to addition?
... -
jherwinReplied on April 2, 2019 at 12:45 AM
Actually, the form calculation is already in addition. Please try to fill out the form and check if calculation for your product/wig is correct.
-
ladilykeReplied on April 2, 2019 at 1:43 AMYes I’ve play around with numbers & the total isn’t adding up correctly.
May you please check?

ladilykeReplied on April 2, 2019 at 1:43 AMok, I went in & tried to fix it but I totally made it worse! The caculation
just isn't adding up correctly.
Idk if its from the bundles selection or the unit type option. Please help,
you were on the right track. Thank you

I inspected and tested your form and the only thing that is not calculated properly is a 50% deposit, if the correct values are assigned to the Unit Type field.
To resolve this issue with a 50% deposit calualtion, you need to replace the plus sign with a multiplication sign inside of the Total field calculation.
Here is a demo form - https://form.jotform.com/90911046653960
Feel free to test it and clone it.
-
ladilykeReplied on April 2, 2019 at 3:43 AMThank you so much! Now it is properly adding up. I see what you did, you
made the value still equal to the unit type. It is now running properly. I
appreciate you all for taking the time out to assist. Only request is to
have mobile font adjusted for proper fitting. After that I will be ready to
publish & add to my website. Should I take it off of test mode?

Nik_CReplied on April 2, 2019 at 4:57 AM
Could you please guide us which part of the form you need adjusting when viewed on mobile?
Regarding test mode, you should take if of the test mode if you want to start collecting payments.
We'll wait for your response.
Thank you!

I moved your other issue to a separate thread - https://www.jotform.com/answers/1779753
We will reply there shortly.
As for the Square payment integration, you can test it in the Sandbox mode using a dummy card provided by Square on this page - https://docs.connect.squareup.com/testing/test-values#test-credit-card
-
ladilykeReplied on April 2, 2019 at 3:43 PMHello,
I've tested out 3 of the sqaure test & they all are invalid. May you take a
look to see if I'm fully in sandbox mode or test yourself?

Your form is in live mode.
You have to set the Mode first to "Test Mode", this will disconnect it from Square then reconnect it again.
Use the following test cards when you make a test payment.
Card number: 4111 1111 1111 1111
Expiration date: 12/21
CVV: 111 -
