SMTP Sender: Ability to test sender once SMTP settings have been entered.

    Hello!

I've built my form with the free version before I plan to buy. I've setup integrations and I think I'm pretty much ready to go live, but when I ran a test, emails were not received by me, or by my test email. I clicked on the "Test Email" button, and that works, but the form submission didn't work.

I checked the logs and emails were sent to your email address, but they are sent from your SMTP email: registration@doubletroublespokane.com

Please check the SMTP setting of your email: https://www.jotform.com/help/244-How-to-Setup-SMTP-for-a-Form and if the settings are correct.

You can also switch the sender email to noreply@jotform.com or noreply@formresponse.com

Let us know if the issue persists.

    Thank you!

Ok, let's forget the actual form submission for a moment. When I go to the email settings and setup my SMTP server, then I click on test email, I receive an email "FROM" noreply@jotform.com, NOT my own email address. Is there a way that I can test using my own email server rather than testing from yours? I do IT for a living and use SMTP servers all day long. I know I have the right settings. Is this possibly because I haven't upgraded my account yet to a paid account?

    Thanks,

    Andy

Unfortunately, it's not currently possible to test the SMTP settings, you will need to submit your form in order to test if the settings work or not.

If you are using the "Test Email" button found in the Emails setting, it would only send a test email to your account's default email address.

To fully test the notification, you will need to open the form in the preview, fill out the form and click submit, in that way you can check if the notification will be sent directly to the recipient address.

I will forward this thread as a feature request to our second level, although we cannot provide an ETA, we will let you know as soon as we get any update about it.

    Thanks.
