Sensitivity of a form on an iPad

    Hi

    I have inserted a simple Contact Form into a website.  My client has let me know that when using an iPad, they have to tap on the field multiple times in order for the cursor to finally appear flashing in the field.

    I thought it might be their iPad, but I've just tried it and have the same problem!

    Is there anything special that I need to do to make a form more sensitive/responsive when viewed on an iPad?

    Thanks for your help.

    I do not have an iPad, so I tested your embedded form using an iPad emulator, but I was not able to replicate the issue you reported.

    Can you please see if you can replicate the same issue on a standalone form? Also, please test it in some other browser.

    You can try to re-embed your form with the script embed code, to see if that will resolve the issue.

    Hi Joanna

    Thanks for your reply.

    Unfortunately if you use an iPad emulator (so that you are still using a keyboard and mouse) you're not going to be able to replicate the problem!

    My client is using a real iPad and his finger to try to interact with a simple Contact Form, created using Jot Form.  The form works perfectly when using a desktop/laptop browser and a keyboard, and that is why we were so surprised that it was difficult to interact with the form when using an iPad.

    Could you please carry out a 'real world' test and actually use an iPad (perhaps ask a colleague if they have one) and go to the URL I have provided and see if you experience the same problem.  Until this is done, Jot Form won't be able to test the problem.

    Many thanks for your help with this.

    Hi Mike,

    Can you please tell us also the version of your iPad and browser version you used when you test live. We want to do live test while using also the same device and browser you used as close to the same as possible.

    We will wait for your updated response.

    Hi Jonathan

    Thanks for your reply.

    Unfortunately I don't know anything about the iPad that my client used to test the form.

    When I tested it here in the office, we used an iPad Mini v4. Safari browser iOS 12.1.4.

    Hope this helps.

    I checked with my colleagues but no one has an iPad. I am unable to replicate the issue on my tablet. However, one of my colleagues was able to replicate the issue on his iPhone.

    Please remove the script part of the iFrame embed code to see if that will resolve the issue. Use only this part of the code:

    <iframe

          id="JotFormIFrame-90744331116955"

          onDISABLEDload="window.parent.scrollTo(0,0)"

          allowtransparency="true"

          allowfullscreen="true"

          allow="geolocation; microphone; camera"

          src="https://form.jotform.com/90744331116955"

          frameborder="0"

          style="width: 1px;

          min-width: 100%;

          height:539px;

          border:none;"

          scrolling="no"

        >

    </iframe>

    If that does not resolve the issue please try with script embed code:
