How to use PayPal along with "Pay by Check" payment option?

i have two options for payment-

1. paypal and when you click it, it takes you to paypal

2. personal check, when you click it, it still takes you to paypal with no confirmation or thank you

how do i change the the form to show a Thank you/ confirmation if someone were to choose check?
