Generating a unique serial number for each submission of a form

We are wanting to use your wonderful form system to record details of wheelchairs that require repair. It would be really helpful if, when the details of a specific chair  are entered a unique serial number is generated for it. This number does not need to appear on the form but it would obviously need to be on the spreadsheet of submissions received. Thank you in advance and sorry I'm new to Jotform.

You can use the Unique ID widget which fits your requirement.

If you don't want this field to appear in the form, you can hide the field.
