    Form won't update deleted field

Asked by jfullan on February 12, 2013 at 01:09 PM

I'm having trouble getting my forms to update after I've made changes; this happens frequently on many forms. For example, here is a form I've been working on today:

    https://secure.jotformpro.com/form/30425044573953

I make the changes in the editor (html field at the top deleted):

    http://www.clipular.com/c?2067860=Dg0pbivdu2nO1sv19roc99BVsmM

But neither the form preview, nor the embedded form show this change:

    http://www.clipular.com/c?2063879=husJ0C9C_QxgF7xZOk6E4X-Xks4

    http://www.clipular.com/c?2059908=iCFSz2DGmW4ephumuXjlPFUqWE8

I've tried emptying my cache multiple times, removing the "secure" or "form" and replacing with "www", re-embeding the form numerous times in various ways... all to no avail.

I really need this issue to go away (not on just this form), as it make a simple change to a form a massive, time-consuming, frustrating problem, reducing my productivity, which my boss surely doesn't like.

    Thanks!

The form in questions does now work, thanks for your help. But there are many other of my forms that don't (will not update). Is this a permanent problem? Will I have to come back here every time I want to update a form?

Not necessarily, aside from clearing your browser cache, I would suggest deleting your offline files and clearing your cookies as well.

    Hi,

If the issue still persist, aside on changing form url from http://form to http://www you should re-save your form.

    Thank you!

I did this (deleted offline files and cleared cache and cookies), and my other forms still are not updating.

By re-saving, do you mean clicking "save"? Or re-making the form (cloning)? I am of course clicking save after each change, if that's what you mean. If you mean cloning the form each time, that seems a serious problem to me, as it would mean immense amounts of time and energy just for one small change.

Yes, clicking "Save" button. Is there anything we can help you with?

    Thank you!

As I said before, I'm of course clicking save after I make the change. That is the first that I do.

The issue again is that I make a change to the form, save the form, go to my website where it's embedded, and it is not updated. I've tried clearing my cache, cookies, restarting the browser, restarting my computer... to no effect. This happens frequently with many forms, and it's very frustrating. This seems to be a problem with many users. Is this something that won't be fixed?

i second this frustration, and in fact just submitted my own question that is nearly identical. this seems like a serious workflow hiccup and needs to be addressed promptly and permanently. having a laundry list of clearing this and that and the other thing, and then still needing to come to the forums and ask everyone who works at JotForm to do the same thing on their end is the opposite of "easy form building".

what is the solution for those who have already cleared EVERYTHING, saved EVERYTHING, and changed all the "form" to "www" or whatever other hoops we've already seen posted here in the forums? and specifically what about SECURE forms...it can't be that we should take the "secure" out of the https://secure.jotformpro.com... address.

We have received notification that delay between datacenters should have been resolved now.

It's still not working. I just went back to make changes, and they are not showing up on the live form. This is an extremely frustrating issue, and every support request like this is answered with the same solutions that don't work. I second bklew's frustration that this is not "easy form building."

Is there a permament solution that someone can offer me?

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience. Our developers informed to us that the killed all cache issues , but there would be some users still affected so another forms cache clearing would be needed

So, I have cleared your forms cache , can you please inform to us if this was of help?
