picture not uploaded. required field being bypassed

Asked by Forthenvironmentlink on February 13, 2013 at 09:04 AM

    Hello,

    http://form.jotformeu.com/form/23123420670340

One of the applicants managed to submit the form without uploading a file, while that question (#6) is required to be answered..

    How did this happened?

    Many thanks

    Hi Amparo,

The problem might be related on user's browser end since we could not replicate the problem on our side. If there browser's javascript is disabled, the user will be able to bypass the required field checks which allows him to submit the form leaving the required fields empty. My suggestion would be to insert the following noscript code to your form. This should hide your entire form fields and a a little notice once their browser's javascript is disabled.

<noscript><style>.form-section{display:none;} .form-all:before{content:"Your browser's javascript is disabled. Please enable it to view and to fill this form.";text-align: center;}</style></noscript>

    Here's how:

    Hope this helps. Thanks!

You can add it anywhere. I would suggest to add it below the submit button. To test it, just simply disable your browser's javascript and visit that form. That should hide your form and display a small notice about browser's javascript is disabled. Thanks!

    Thanks,

I tried it and it works. Do you recommend this for all the forms?

    Thanks

    Hi Amparo,

It's up to your decision. It is not necessarily you have to do this for all your forms. I'd suggest to use the code to the form in which you are receiving blank entry on the required fields.

    Thanks!
