    Hi there,

I have a question regarding a form field. We have a field where we ask about the 'personalnumber' of somebody. Sometimes the number start with a lettter, sometimes with a number.

We have a integration through Zapier with Teamleader. However, Teamleader cannot process the field when it consists only out numbers, because we mark it as a text field. We have thought about a solution, and that is that we always start the field with a letter. Is this possible in Jotform?

I know that it is possible to add a 'standard value', but this can be removed by the user, so that does not help. Maybe I can use the conditions, something with 'calculate field'? Would be great if you can answer to els@marketingbyels.nl

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,

    Els

Yes it is possible to achieve your requirement by enabling "Input Mask" option in "Short Text Entry" field. Please check the screenshot below:

This will ensure that in place of "@", user will only be able to try text.

    Hope this helps.

Do try it out and get back to us if you have any questions.

We will wait for your response.

    Hi Ashwin,

Thanks for your help. Okay so adding the @********* means that they have the start with a letter, and can then proceed with both letters and numbers right?

    Regards,

When you enable input mask, you need to use @ symbol to mask letters, # for numbers and * for both.
