Prefilling a drop down based on the last submission

    Hi there,

I am looking to create a form that can be used on walks to identity issues with mechanical systems and then send this information over to a google sheet.

To identify the area and system there will be two drop downs both of which are quite long.

I have used the basic drop-down for the Area as I thought it might be more reliable and I have used the Dynamic Dropdown Widget for the system as it gives you a search box which narrows down matches when you start typing (this is extremely useful and my preferred option).

When a user starts to use the form they will typically make multiple submissions with different comments however the Area and System will not change for a given walk.

To avoid wasting time finding the area and system each time (or making an error) I created two links on the Thank You Page of a form to demonstrate this.

Link One will bring you back to a blank form where you can start over again

Link two will also bring you back however I need it to be predefined with the area and system from the last submission.

The issue is that this works sometimes fine, other times one works and the other doesn't and sometimes it doesn't work at all.

Am I doing something wrong, or are there any limitations to this?

I wanted to try both of these out as this form will eventually take thousands of entries if I can get it to work reliably but I need it to work 100% of the time and I cant make out what the issue is.

I have cloned your JotForm to my account and tested with different values. As I tested the form with pre-populating data, it worked fine on all instances. Could you check it once again and let us know if the issue persists with any specific value in the dropdown?

Please get back to us if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Hi Gerard

Thank you for the additional information as well as the provided screenshots. I was able to replicate the issue, it seems that every time I am to click the area greater than 99 it will not give me the same information when I click Submit another form for the same area as seen below.

I tried clearing my cache and cookies on my browser and ran into the same issue.

Let's have you try in different browsers if possible. If the issue persists please let us know and we will escalate this issue to our developers so that we can get this fixed!

Thank you for your response I have tried in other browsers but the issue persists.

I can see that anything over 99 in the area dropdown will not work for me but it is a little less clear with the system.

I would appreciate if you could escalate the issue as this is the key feature I require to achieve the system we need and without it working I will need to look for other solutions.

I appreciate all of your help but there must be a simple solution to this issue.
