Consider someone has answered most questions in your card form, but either forgot to click submit, or simply didn't finish. Is there a way to save the data that was filled in without the visitor clicking submit? thanks

There is a way to save data and continue forms later, you can enable it in your form if you want. Please refer to the guide below for more information and instruction.

    Guide: Setting-up-the-Continue-Forms-Later-Feature-in-Card-Forms

The user can also continue filling out the form at a later date once they have the session link for their data.

thanks! but i may not have been clear in my question because i was trying to make it relatable to others, rather than just me. I have 2 questions in my card form (so just 2 cards) i want the first one to be required, and the 2nd question not required. thus, it's possible that someone may answer the 1st, and then just x out of the form without submitting. is it possible to save the answer to the 1st card without the visitor clicking submit on the 2nd card or taking any further action? hopefully that explains it...thanks again!

Yes, that's possible as well using the guide I gave you. However, since you are using the card forms, they need to click save so the data will be saved on our server.

If you want the form to automatically save the entered data without clicking save then you can use the classic form layouts.

You can then view the incomplete submissions made by the user by following the guide below.
