selecting choices in one question; then automatically moving the selected choices to another question for ranking

    Hi,

I have one question where one selects choices of interest.  I then want to create a condition that will show another question that populates only the answers selected in the question above and this second question allows the choices to be ordered by priority.  I have the order widget, but I don't know how to make the selected choices in the first question populate into the second question.

    Hi,

    Here you go:

Basically what I'd like to do on the section of Use of Matched Sets.  If a person checks a few boxes, then another question would show to the right that would allow ranking of the selected options.  Is this the best way to do this, or can this be combined into one question to make it more efficient?

If you want to do this:

To show options on the right when options are selected on the left, I'm afraid that the best way is to use conditional logic, we could assist you more if you could tell us how exactly the options should show.

But if you want to conditionally fill the options on the right, I'm afraid that it is not possible since the field on the right is a widget and it cannot be prefilled conditionally.

    We'll wait for your response.

    Thank you!

    Hi Nik,

Yes, what I'd like to do is whenever selections are made on the left, those are populated to the right, but what I want to do is then have the person be able to rank those initial choices.

    Is this possible?

The options would the the same as listed on the left.  Then the person can rank them on the right (of the ones they initially selected).  You can remove the widget if I'm going in the wrong direction here..

If you want to rank your options, you may use the Order list widget.

However, it is not possible to populate the list with the options selected.

You may also try the dual list box widget.

Please give it a try and let us know if this fits your requirements.
