How to send email based on the selection from the dropdown field?

    Hi,

I wanted to upgrade from the free service, but wanted to confirm that I can create a form the can do the following:

I need the user to pick their managers name from a drop down list, but I need the name to tie to the manager's email.

    We have about 150 managers...

I then need to be able to send the completed form to that manager.

    Can this somehow be done?

That is possible using email condition. Is the user only allowed to choose one manager in the options?

Please provide more details of your requirement so we can make a demo form to test it out on our end and give you relevant information.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Hi,

    thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, there is only one manager for each employee. I tried the conditional format, but I did not want to set up a condition for each employee (there will be over 300 employees). I was hoping somehow to use something on the backend. For example , when the employee chooses the manager name in the dropdown selection that is linked to the managers email, then the form gets sent to that manager.

thanks again for any assistance you can give me!

Unfortunately it is currently not possible to get the data from any external source. You do not have to add condition for each manager/user. There is an another way to achieve your requirement by listing all the manager's name in the dropdown field. Here are the steps you need to follow:

#1. Add a dropdown field in form and list all the manager's name.

#2. Set the calculation value as the email id for each options.

#3. Add "Form Calculation" widget in form and set the formula to populate the value of dropdown field.

#4. Add Auto-responder email alert in form.

#5. Grab the "Unique Name" of the form calculation widget.

#6. Add condition in form of check if the dropdown field is selected and then send email to the form calculation widget with unique name tag. Please check the screenshot below:
