Is there any risk to my company to be collecting SSN and DLs using Jotform?

Hello, I was wondering a bit more about security of my data and forms. My web design company is creating a very long and in depth job application form for a client that is hiring new drivers. Their application form needs to collect social security numbers and drivers license numbers to run background checks and check driving history.

I'm just wondering is there any risk to my company to be collecting this information using Jotform?

Please note that collecting these types of data is considered as phishing activity, as stated in our Terms of Use. Online Form Builders, including Jotform, are sometimes being used for identity theft and we go to great lengths to prevent this. However, you may collect social security number but you need to comply with two things.

    1. Add the Terms & Conditions Widget (or the Short Scrollable Terms Widget) for your users to read and agree with your presented legal terms.

    2. Add a Signature Widget so your users can sign and agree to provide such sensitive information.

Also, please refer to our security web page for more information on Jotform security.

    Thanks!
