Hi
In the form i need to select a college name from a drop down and fill the rest of the college details like State, City, Pincode based on the name selected. The data is available in the spreadsheet.
Spreadsheet to Form widget cannot be used as the user needs to know the exact name of the college which is not possible
is there a way to do this?
regards
harish

Please check on Dynamic Dropdown widget https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/dynamic_dropdowns
I think it will work for what you need.
Let us know how it goes.

Hi Jonathan
I did check that, but my understanding is i would need to have 350+ entries and for each entry i need to have State, City, Pincode as the sub divisions. This widget helps if my drop down has very few entries. In my list i have around 380 college names and each has the fields mentioned. Also i cannot start from state and go down to college as people will be entering the College name only
Any other way to do it?
regards
Harish

Thank you for the clarification. I guess it will be to tedious if using Dynamic dropdown widget in this case.
The other workaround I come up with was using Spreadsheet widget + Autocomplete widget.
Since the users will need to know what is the college name first, you can use the Autocomplete widget to list down the colleges names.
1. They can select the college name from the list and the value will be copied to Spreadsheet to Form widget filter field.
2. Then click on Autocomplete this field button in Spreadsheet widget to auto populate all the other fields.
Here is a screencast video of the concept.
I hope this help. Let us know if you need further assistance.
