Date field - why does it need the separator

Hello

I'd like to figure out, if there is a way for me to enter the date like 01012019 and the separator to show up automatically and the result should be 01/01/2019

like a lot of forms on the internet, it is not required to type in the separator. I cannot figure out if there is an option like that with Jotform, in lite mode of course. Thanks!

You may use a short text entry element instead and use the input mask, this way you will automatically add the desired characters, the option can be found on the element settings:
