Form Encryption: The unfilled Star Rating Property field by user shows 10 points in the submission page

    Hello,

I have a survey and there is a Multiple Choice Property field with several options.
Depending on which option is selected, it then follows a Star Rating Property field for each selected option; each one separately.

This seems to work nicely but when I look into the Submissions report, it shows ALL the options of Multiple Choice Property field; the selected and the non selected once. And those that were NOT selected, are shown with 10 stars.

I would need them to have 0 stars, since those options were not selected in the first place and no star rating was given.

Please advice on how to go about it.

    Thank you.

Apologies for any inconvenience. I have created a clone version of your form and I wasn't able to reproduce the issue that you have described in the clone version.

It appears that it happened when your respondents initially selected the options that are supposed to have no Star Ratings from the Multiple Choice fields then filled the associated Star Ratings of those options. However, they might have changed their mind, went back to the Multiple Choice field, and deselected the options except for the "Lack of Confidence" and "Fear of Injury". If they did that and the "Clear Hidden Field Values" setting of your form is set to "Don't Clear", then the Star Ratings of the hidden options will not clear when the form is submitted.

May I ask if the issue still happens? I have checked the form you are referring to in your account and it shows that the conditionally hidden fields in your form are not set to be cleared on submit. Kindly confirm if the issue still persists and with your permission, we would like to make test submissions with your form.

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for your quick reply, much appreciated.
I'm afraid the issues still persists. Please do test submissions to check what is going on.

I have changed the value of "Clear Hidden Field Values"  and is now on "Clear in Submit". After checking it with new test inputs, the issue stays the same -  all not chosen options are displayed with 10 stars (?)

I'm afraid the issues still persists. Please do test submissions to check what is going on.

    Also I've realised that there is another field with issue;
"What is your reason for wanting to participate?"
which returns a correct value (text) but has added at the beginning of it the following string:
    jotform_untitled_markdown

    Thank you.

I cloned your form and I was not able to replicate the issue.

I also test submitted your form, but I can't see the submissions because the form is encrypted. Can you please check and send us a screenshot of the test submission I made?

Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.

I was able to replicate it in my cloned Form. This is occurring due to the Encryption feature enabled in your Form.

Let me escalate this to our development team.

We will keep you updated on this as soon as we receive updates.

    Thanks.

    Thank you, please do.

In the meantime, if I disable the Encryption feature in my form, should this error not occur?

    Thank you!

You may disable the encryption on the form. However, please note that the submissions received after disabling the form encryption shall be displayed normally. Also, in order to view the encrypted responses that are already received, it is required to enable the form encryption again and provide with the private key.

May we recommend to keep the form encryption unchanged so that our backend team can look into it. As soon as we have any update in this regard, we'll let you know here.

    Thank you for your patience.
