Why is my form's autoresponder not displaying all the data properly?

Asked by SJAtraining on February 20, 2013 at 04:49 PM

I've created a form for our company to use that has a number of fields. It appears properly online, as well as on the confirmation that is sent to our email addresses.  However, the autoresponder is missing some information.  The fields themselves show up on the response, but the data is missing from them.

Example - I have a Course Requested field. The label still shows up on the auto-response, but the client information is missing.

How do I fix this error?

In order for you to fix this, please select the field and set it as required

You can do this with any other field

    Hi Jeanette,

Thanks for the reply!  The required field is one of the ones showing up blank. the customer number shows up on the notification emails, but not on the auto-responder; it shouldn't be possible to submit the email without the customer number as it is mandatory, so I'm not sure how it's not including this data.

As mentioned by Jeanette, the field on the form was not set to required. It is possible for the form user to skip this question and submit a blank answer.

Please edit the form and set it to required, then you can test the form email.

Inform us if the issue persist after correcting this.

It works! It wasn't to do with the fields being required - somehow the autoresponder was pulling an old version of the form; when I went to do screen captures to show what was happening the forms didn't line up with each other.  Deleting the auto-responder and recreating it fixed it (in case anyone else runs into this)

    @ SJAtraining

Hi, thanks for updating us. Glad to know you were able to sort it out.

And yes, when you re-create the notification or autoresponder email, it usually refreshes the email template to include the recent edits/updates done on the form. This must be the case that happen your form.
