How do I import an existing form from a website?

Asked by exhibitk on February 21, 2013 at 01:39 PM

I selected import form from a web page and inserted the correct url, it says it's generating the form but once it is finished it is blank. The form i am trying to import is a jot form and was made in a different jot form account that i have access to, it there another way to copy a form from one account to another or is there  a reason trying to import it isn't working? Thanks for your help!

I believe what you are trying to do will work with the following steps.

Sign into your account that you wish to copy/import the form FROM, open the form in edit mode then preview it.  At the top of the preview page, there is a "Form URL", copy that link.

Now sign into the account that you wish to import the form TO, go to your forms, and click create, and choose import, enter the URL you copied from your other account in Preview mode, this should import the form the way you'd like it done.

Let me know if that doesn't work, and I'll check into it more.

Another way to try this will be to log into the account you are wanting to copy forms from, copy the source code as you would if you were posting it to your web page.  Paste that code into the HTML of a new form in your other account, and it will act as a form on that account.  Let me check as to why your account is not letting you log in.

Please make sure to use the form URL in order to clone it. It is the following URL in your case:

    http://form.jotform.us/form/30454616725151

Account suspension issue will be resolved via your second thread.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, the source code will not help you to import (clone) the form.

Are you still having some problems with the clone feature? We will be happy to help.

    @ exhibitk

Which form you are trying to import?

Is it the same which you have sent earlier in this thread (copied below)? If yes, we have an issue here as this site throws "500 Internal Server Error" and hence there is no form there and jotform is unable to import.

@exhibitk Your URL to where the form is, at the moment they are down. You can not import their forms when their server is down. However, it seems my colleague Mike_T was able to get the form ID before the server went down. I tried that form URL from Mike and imported it successfully.

Please give it another try by importing this form URL http://form.jotform.us/form/30454616725151. I cleared your cache. It is also good to try logging out from your account and clearing your browser's cache and logging in again before importing the form URL. Please let us know if this works for you. Thanks.
