When I change the multiple choice questions, why are submissions also removed?

Hi, 

There was a typo in one of my form multiple choice questions, and once it was fixed the submission answers stopped being recorded. I can't find the answers in the CSV file or in the integrated google sheet after the date the form was updated. 

Additionally, this question has since been removed altogether, however the submissions between the time the question was updated and removed are what I would like to recover. 

Please let me know if there's any way to go back and find these submission answers.

Please note that if you modify or deleted the fields, submissions associated with that field will be deleted automatically. The only way to restore deleted submissions is to revert your form to its previous version where the deleted fields are present.
