How do I ensure that the field is not shown in the autoresponder or notification unless Yes is checked?

hi. I have a hidden field on this form. When the form is submitted will it show up on the email auto response? On the notification email?  If yes, how do I ensure that it doesn’t show up unless the field is unbidden and the person has checked “yes” (a required field if unhidden)

    Hello,

You need to configure the field to show up in the form when Yes is selected by conditional logic.

    Guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/316-How-to-Show-or-Hide-Fields-Base-on-User-s-Answer.

Once you do this, the field will remain hidden until the conditional logic is met. Now, if YES is not selected, the field will not show up in the autoresponder and notification emails of the form.

I hope that helps. Please let us know if you have further questions.

When you say “now” in your response. Does that mean the field is being hidden at the moment or not?

Also I watched the video and I know how to show/hide a field. That is not my question. I would like to know whether the field that is CURRENTLY hidden on the live form is showing up on the notification and auto responder emails even though it’s hidden on the live form?  I don’t want it to show until I unhide it.

I did check your form and found that you have edited & customised auto-responder email template. That is the reason why hide empty fields are not working in your form's email alert.

There are two options available to achieve your requirement:

#1. Please edit your form's auto-responder email alert template and delete the field from the template. Please check the screenshot below:

#2. Please add two auto-responder email alert where in one of them please delete the field you do not want to display the hidden field and in the another email alert, you can retain the field. Then you can add condition in form to check if the dropdown field is not filled, send auto-responder email in which you have deleted the field. You can add another condition to check if the dropdown field is filled, you can trigger the auto-responder email in which you have not deleted the dropdown field.

    Hope this helps.
