    Editing Submissions - How to tell if an email is an autoresponder

    Can someone help me determine if my emails are auto responders or not? I changed the names and now I don't know.

    I'm trying to update the notifications when I edit a submission. I want to receive confirmation of edits for the registar and nhs confirmation emails.  However, I don't want the lender to be notified everytime we edit a form.

    Hello NHSCreative, it is very easy to tell if an alert is a Notification or if it is an Auto-Responder alert.

     

    By going into Setup & Embed and clicking the Email Alerts, select any of your notifications or alerts.

    In the window that popups, sometimes the Subject Title will give you a clue if you used the default one. In this case, "New submission: {from_title}" this is commonly seen for Notifications.

    If it is an Auto-Responder, the default title would be Auto-Responder # where in a number replaces the # symbol.

     

    Another hint is by going to Reply-To and Recipient Settings.

    Most of the major clues are here. For example, a notification alert will usually have your email address or known email addresses in the "Recipient E-mail:" at the bottom right corner of the window.

     

    On the other hand, an auto-responder alert will usually have a mapped recipient E-mail. A mapped "Recipient E-mail" is usually placed with form fields. For example a textbox name in your form that will contain the email address of your user input so normally the Recipient E-mail for autoresponder is a dropdown box with that little up and down arrows. While a notification recipient will only contains those broken underlines.
