Stripe support has informed to reach out to Jotform support regarding charges.

The information on the instructions page is incomplete and there are no further instructions on how to properly go about charging customer - The jotform submissions we receive when a customer submits their information show only one link to process a charge and it directly charges the amount which the customer authorization ONLY (not whatever amount necessary as stated in the link, see NOTE below).

I have logged onto Stripe dashboard/interface and the information is appears to be captured under a section called METADATA, where we are also unable to charge a different amount.

Additionally, the Stripe forums say there is a 7-day limit to captures. Does this hold true for jotforms? This information is not clear per the note above. Where can we receive more information and clear instructions on how to process these charges from start to end?

Below is the Note from the instructions setup page:

NOTE: Of the four, only Stripe has the option to capture the payment from within JotForm's interface (submissions page and email notifications). Also, with Stripe, you can charge your customers later with whatever amount necessary (charge amount different from authorizedamount) through your Stripe merchant interface. For PayPal and Authorize.Net, you must login to their respective merchant interfaces and do the manual payment capture from there.

Payment authorization only applies if you do not want to charge your user as soon as they submit the form. The Payment Authorization feature will only capture the information. In order to charge the card, you will need to manually do it through your Stripe merchant account dashboard.

However, if you want to charge your customer as soon as they submitted the form, you need to set the "Charge Customer Immediately" to YES.

    Thanks,

I have reached out to Stripe support, they have send us back to Jotform support regarding charging overall as well as charging a customer a different amount.

If Jotform says you can update the charge price, where are the instructions to do so?

Can you let me know about the other question - is there a 7-day limit to authorizations?

With Stripe, you can charge your customers later with whatever amount necessary (charge amount different from authorized amount) through your Stripe merchant interface.

Please allow me some time to run a few tests and get back to you with relevant information.

Can you let me know about the other question - is there a 7-day limit to authorizations?

Yes, when a charge is authorized, the funds are guaranteed by the card issuer and the amount held on the customer's card for up to seven days.
