Is it possible to downsample the pdf images when it gets exported to google drive? Some of my pdf's are coming out to 50-60 mb. Do you have any suggestions?

Do you use a standard file upload field in your form or some widget? Could you please provide your form link so we will be able to take a look?

The images seem to be automatically reduced in size within PDFs when I am trying to test this on a sample form.

Due to enabled HIPAA compliance, I cannot directly check your form. However, when I am testing a cloned version of your form, I am getting ~2MB PDFs in google drive even with large image uploads.

Do you use an old version of the PDF Editor by any chance? If so, you can try switching to the new PDF Editor, and then testing it again.

Yes, it was set to use the new pdf editor. Any other ideas? This happens fairly often for us, I would say that >50% of the time the resulting pdf has a size of >20 mb for just having 2-3 photos in them.

Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about this for HIPAA form. When HIPAA is enabled, submission data is being encrypted, every single character. So, that is why a result file becomes times larger in size than regular file. You might need to consider not including image files in PDF.
