How can I change how date fields sort?

I have a list of over 90 registrants for an upcoming event that we need to break into age categories.  I used the default "Birthday" field, however when I pull up the data as a Grid it sorts it as a concatonated string of Day/Month/Year.  When I pull it into Excel, it stores the data as text and can't easily be sorted without trying to break apart the column.  Is there any way to get this data to actually sort as a date as opposed to text or number?

    Thanks!

The best way to sort Birthday data would be to create a formula function in excel. I would suggest checking the link below to give you an idea on how to do this.

Currently Jotform, are only able to sort date submission but not specific field.
