I created a text box for a number field, which was then integrated with my google sheets. I am not having a hard time sorting my spreadsheet based on these numbers. Any idea on how I can change the formatting in my google sheet. The simple way of going to the format button and changing the number to a number format does not work.

I am not quite sure what you are trying to achieved, can you please provide more details? We'd appreciate if you could provde a screenshot. Also, are you referring to the "Number" tool under Quick Tools?
We'll be looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

and uses the "text" box as a field and doesn't realize that a text box will
produce a text string and not a number string, then they wont' be able to
use that list of numbers to calculate anything. I would suggest adding the
"number" tool to the first menu, right under the "text" tool so people can
see that there is a difference.
