How can I make the birth date picker widget have default options set instead of it being blank?

I have removed the sub labels from the birth date picker using CSS, but now I was to have the default option on the widget to be "month" "date" and "year" instead of having each drop down blank.

Instead of this, I want each dropdown to read "month" "day" "year" before the user selects their option. 

Unfortunately, there is no option to add a default value inside the Birth date picker widget.

It is also not possible to add the month inside the dropdown options.

If you wish to add the month/day/year value you may use the default dropdown and manually add the options.
