How to upload files in iOS Voice Memos using Jotform File Upload?

    Hi Jotform Support Team,

I have used the 'File Upload' feature for users to upload multiple files via their mobile phones

However, iOS users could not locate 'Voice Memos' to attach an audio file, and have limited folders to choose from.

Android users are OK at this point of time as they have more folders to choose from.

    Please advise.

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers,
    Megan

The Voice recorder widget is mainly based on WebRTC with a fallback option using Flash. Unfortunately, not all browsers support WebRTC like IE and Safari. Check this page for details http://iswebrtcreadyyet.com/ - browsers with green bars means WebRTC-Capable.

So here's how the voice recorder widget renders in the browser.

    > When the browser does not support WebRTC, a fallback option will be placed using Flash.

    > When Flash is also not supported in the browser, then the browser will not be able to show you anything except the error. This means you can't use the widget.

So in order for your users to use the voice recorder widget smoothly, suggest them to use Chrome or Firefox.

    Hope this information helps.

    Hi Jherwin,

Thank you for your prompt support.

Let me explain again as your suggestion is not what our iOS / iPhone users are facing ...

    1) For iPhone, all voice recordings / audio files are saved in this folder - 'Voice Memos'

    2) When iPhone users want to attach the audio files using the 'File Upload' feature build in the Jotform Mobile (please see screenshot below), they could not locate this 'Voice Memos' folder or any media files folder when browsing for files on their mobile phones.

    3) Is there any way or widgets that could allow iPhone users to upload files from their mobile phones?

    Thanks in advance!

The problem is actually only limited to Safari. For the workaround, you can install the "Documents 6" app and move/share voice memos there. You can then upload the voice memo located in the "Document 6" app.

Here's the link to the app I'm referring to: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/documents-by-readdle/id364901807
