Can I use a drop down list that shows the users a name but has the email address embedded so I can use the field in ?

    I am trying to set up a form that emails a particular teacher when student selects the teacher's name from a drop down field.  I understand that I could use conditions to chose which teacher to email, but given that I have a possible 60 teachers, I don't want to setup up 60 (or more) different conditions.  Is it possible to create a drop down field where the choices are something like Mr. Smith <someone@example.com> or Mr. Smith <a target="_blank" href="mailto:someone@example.com"> and then use that field as the Recipient E-mail in the auto-responder emails?  Basically I'm trying to find a way to email a particular person where the user only selects the name and the system sends to a particular address without setting up a large amount of conditions.  (In an effort to minimize mistakes, I am also trying to avoid having the student select the teacher name and then select the teacher email address.)

    Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.

    Hi,

    That method will require you to create the conditional logic one by one for each teacher email address. Unfortunately, there's no other way I can think to create shortcut of that.

    In an effort to minimize mistakes, I am also trying to avoid having the student select the teacher name and then select the teacher email address.

    -You can remove the teacher email address field becase you don't need to let them match the name and email address. You can do this directly on the Conditional Logic.

    Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    I guess there's a shortcut for that. It is by pointing your conditional logic to the Dropdown Field that contains the Teacher's Email Address.

    First Step: Get the Dropdown Field Tag from your form notifications. On this form: https://www.jotform.com/20965762341961, the field tag is {teacherEmail}

    Second Step: Setup up your condition into like this:

    I have just tried this and it works well. Please kindly try doing the same.

    Thanks
