Is it possible to have a number field use "dollar" formatting?

Asked by firstfoundation on March 28, 2011 at 03:08 PM

We'd like to use a field where the visitor is inputting dollar amounts - i.e  household income, property purchase price, down payment, etc...and have it formatted like a dollar.  I.e. $1,000.00 - is it possible to either format a number field this way, or perhaps for Jotform to create a unique "dollar" field type?

This would help us greatly - both visually and from a tracking standpoint.

    Hi firstfoundation,

At this time, there is no such option. However, a workaround that you can do is to use a text box and assign a "Default Value" such as $1,000.00.

You can also add a hint example to further remind your visitors to follow the correct format.

Please note that the above workaround will not have validation capabilities. We'll notify our programming team if this is something that can be considered in the near future.

We hope you find this information useful. Thank you for using JotForm!
