Form Field Side by Side

Is there a way to have form field display side by side next to another form field instead of only one on it's own line or row?

Yes, you can easily do this. In order to achieve this, you should click on the Properties of the form element and then go to Advanced and scroll down to the Shrink button. You should click on the Shrink button and mark it as "On".

You should do this for both fields. Then you can just drag and drop them side by side.
