Stripe Integration: Trial Days are not recorded into Stripe Dashboard, Subscription status is active already

Asked by paycell on March 19, 2013 at 12:40 AM

I have setup stripe in my form.  The product is a subscription plan with a 15 day trial  However when I try a test transaction and view it in my stripe dashboard, the plan is setup WITHOUT the 15 day trial.   What might the problem be?

It seems as though the stripe addon in jotfrom is not sending the correct request to set the product as trial.

Below is how the new plan is listed in my Stripe dashboard.

Can I download the source form and change the stripe code to send the correct request to my Stripe account?

    Hi,

    Unfortunately, that is not possible. You can however edit the payment into your Stripe Account to include the trial period. To do that;

    1. Login to Stripe

    2. Click "Plans"

    3. Find and Click an Item to the "Subscribers" section

    4. Find "Subscription" section and Click "Edit Subscription"

    5. Set date on Trial Period

    Thanks

No this will not work. That means I will have to update every subscriber AFTER they have already paid the $25.  I don't want them to pay until at the end of the trial period.

I will wait on your  Level 2 Support/Developers for further investigations.  Hopefully they will have a fix for this soon.

It looks like Jotform's Stripe plugin is simply sending null data in the api request instead of filling in the number of days indicated in the dropdown box.

Here's the similar plan I actually created in Stripe's system with the trial.  If you guys could add a field to send the "id:" of an already configured Stripe plan in the api request instead, then that would be nice.

If you create a separate thread about this, we will be able to escalate a feature request ticket to our Developers. We can not attach multiple tickets to one support thread at this time.

    Thank you.

    Hi paycell,

I have updated our Stripe integration to cover the trial feature. If you have already created plans and you want them to use trial feature, you need to change the name of subscription on JotForm or delete the plan on Stripe (to allow our new version to create a new plan with trial periods). Your new subscribers will not be charged until trial period ends.

    Thank you for your time,

    Kindest Regards,

    Ertugrul.
