Airtable Integation: submission ID to be mapped

    Hi folks,

I use jotforms to collect events for a community calendar stored on airtable.  I was hoping you could do two small tweaks to the airtable integration which would save people like me a lot of time:

#1. Please make the jotform submission ID (used in the edit link) a variable that I can pass to Airtable.  There is a workaround using zapier, but it is very expensive.  It essentially doubles the amount of tasks I have to buy from zapier.

#2.  Can you please add a variable that I can pass to airtable which lets me know if a submission is an edit?  Again, there are workarounds, using zapier, but they are not very reliable, and they require a very complicated script which has to search an entire airtable record and delay itself 10 minutes just to work.

I cannot overstate how much these small tweaks would be a HUGE help... not just to me but to anyone who is integrating your service with airtable.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Best,

    Joshua

Do note that the submission ID is only created once the form is submitted.

I have forwarded a feature request to our developers to allow the submission ID to be mapped in the Airtable Integration.

We cannot give an ETA when this feature would be added or will it be passed however, we will keep you posted via this thread.

For you second feature I have moved it to the second thread to assist you better.

    Hi Richie,

That's very interesting to hear, because with your jotform to Zapier integration, the JotForm ID is passed along with all the fields.

The way I see it, there are two solutions to this problem:

    1) pass all the information to airtable AFTER the form is submitted

    2) keep the present setup, but recognize that Airtable's API returns the Airtable Record ID when it creates a new record.  So jotform could send a follow-up UPDATE to Airtable, throwing the submission ID into the record separately, after the initial creation.

Please mention both to your dev team, as they may find one of those significantly easier to implement!

    Thank you.

I have added your requirements in the ticket for our developers to check.

We will get back to you once updates are available.
