I'm using the JotForm Connector for SharePoint 2010 to receive form submissions and I wonder if it is possible to receive post data when my form is not embedded securely? (http://www.sapiens.at/en/products/jotform-to-sharepoint)
When my form is embedded without checking the secure checkbox, no post data is submitted to the webhook. As a result of this the content type is not created and no fields are added to the site.
Is it necessary to check the secure check box to receive post data on form submission?

There is no such restriction. Both secure forms and non-secure forms can submit to Send Post Data URL. If you can provide the form URLs for both cases I can take a look.
