What happens when I update someone's submission?

    Hi,

Sometimes people make a mistake when updating submissions. What Happens when I click on Edit, make a change, and then save it? I don't see anywhere to save the change besides the "Submit to Manager for Approval Button". Will hitting this button to save resend the e-mails that are sent when the original user fills out the form? I would like to avoid spamming the people who the form is forwarded to.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Yes, to save the changes you need to click the submit button on your form. Now, editing a submission will indeed send the emails again, in order to avoid this, you may set up the emails to be sent only when the form is submitted the first time, you can do this on the form builder, go to the settings tab, emails section, edit the email template and turn off the "send on edit" option which can be found under the advanced tab.

    Nice name!

Will this turn off all notifications going forward? When the end user fills out the form, they click "Submit to Manager". This sends an E-mail to the Manager, then the manager will sign using a widget, and then click "Submit to Legal".

Will turning off the "send on edit option" effect the "Submit to Legal" Email? When I make an edit to a form that is already submitted, I will just click the "Submit to Manager Button" to save

There is a different e-mail template sent out when the "Submit to Legal" is clicked.

(I think I just answered my own question by typing out my process, following your instructions will not effect the "Submit to Legal" notifications)--- but can you confirm?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Each email template has it's own "Send on edit" property so this means that you may tun this off for some of the email templates on your form only.

Now, also note that the emails are sending regardless which submit button on your form is pressed.
