Barcode Scanner read Universal Product Code

Is the scanner able to read the UPC then spit out the item number and description of product from our item master info?  We are looking to use this with android and iphones.

The Barcode Scanner widget can scan Universal Product Codes.

I see.  But, is the widget able to display the description and the item number associated with the UPC? 

To clarify, do you want to show the description text ?

Unfortunately, the bar code scanner will only show UPC code.
