    Error in Generated Form Code

    Asked by chassisplans on March 30, 2013 at 12:21 AM

    Hi,

    When requiring a field, you insert      validate[required]"       with a trailing quote.  This is not correct.

    Regards,

    David

    Hi David,

    Can share to us where we can see this. I viewed your form's source code, I could not seem to find this mistake.

     <div id="cid_1" class="form-input">

              <input type="text" class=" form-textbox validate[required]" id="input_1" name="q1_name" size="20" />

            </div>

          </li>

          <li class="form-line" id="id_5">

            <label class="form-label-left" id="label_5" for="input_5">

              Company<span class="form-required">*</span>

            </label>

            <div id="cid_5" class="form-input">

              <input type="text" class=" form-textbox validate[required]" id="input_5" name="q5_company" size="20" />

            </div>

          </li>

          <li class="form-line" id="id_3">

            <label class="form-label-left" id="label_3" for="input_3">

              Phone<span class="form-required">*</span>

            </label>

            <div id="cid_3" class="form-input">

              <input type="text" class=" form-textbox validate[required]" id="input_3" name="q3_phone" size="20" />

            </div>

          </li>

          <li class="form-line" id="id_4">

            <label class="form-label-left" id="label_4" for="input_4">

              Email<span class="form-required">*</span>

            </label>

            <div id="cid_4" class="form-input">

              <input type="text" class=" form-textbox validate[required, Email]" id="input_4" name="q4_email" size="20" />

            </div>

    Will await our updates.

    Thanks.

    Hi David

    As you can see in my colleague's copy of the form code, the trailing quote is matched with a leading one, although there's a space after the leading one but that shouldn't cause any problems. Is the form exhibiting any issues relating to its required fields?

    Hello Jonathan and Abajan,

    That extra quote thing turned out to be my issue.  Sorry about that.  I’m merging your code with mine so I don’t have to completely redo my forms previously done for another form service.

    I also haven’t got the required fields working yet but will in the future.

    Since I have your ear, I thought I’d pass a suggestion along.  In setting up a Notification Email, your "envelope" for the FROM and TO fields is cute, a nice demo of HTML5 and CSS, but really hard to use.  The TO field is too small and doesn’t show all the addresses listed on it.  You would do much better for your customers to simply make that a list and loose the cuteness.

    By the way, awesome support.

    Thanks,

    David
