I require some help with a progress indicator on my form

    One problem we do have is that when you fill in the form and add all your media (images and video) this all works well and you can see the upload to the form no problem.

    The issue that we have is when you click on the “submit” button, all we can see is “please wait” – IE there is no progress indicator which can show the clients that the upload is still in progress.

    On completion of upload the client does get a “Thank You” we have received your media.

    The problem is that dependant on the volume of data being uploaded this may take some time and there is absolutely no indication to the user that the upload is actually still taking place.

    We feel that without some “progress indicator” at the submit stage, the clients may think It’s not working and close the site, thereby not allowing completion of the upload.

    Is it possible to do this? And is there a “pro” available that could help with the progress indicator

    Hi,

    May we ask what is the version of IE are you having this issue? I cloned your form and ran a test submission using IE 11, it is showing me a progress status when uploading a file.

    I tried to submit the form while the file is still uploading, then it shows me a warning "Please wait..." then the form automatically proceeds to the thank you page, in which I think it will not let the user submit the form while there's a file being uploaded. I checked the submission and I was able to get the uploaded files. 

    Or have you received a submission that doesn't have an uploaded file or a broken file?

    Hi KrisLei.

    Agreed, the "Upload a File" works perfectly and there are progress indicators while this is happening.

    The issue is with the "Submit" button. Once all files are "Uploaded" you click on the "Submit" button - there is no progress indicator and when there are multiple video files, it could take a while to upload to Jotform and our integrated dropbox.

    I am trying to find a way to add a progress indicator to the "Submit" button so that clients can see that the application is working. If there is no progress indicator here, the screen does say "please wait", but there is no indication that it is still in progress until the "Thank YOU" screen displays.

    As there may be some time taken for the files to be loaded to Jotform, the client may think that the screen has frozen. We are trying to avoid customers thinking this.

    Unfortunately, we don't have a progress bar to show when the form is being submitted.

    However, we have a widget that will show how many fields are completed or in progress.

    Hi Richie - the widget only follows the progress of the form as the client fills it in. It does not do anything to indicate that the submission is in progress and shows a meaningful progress.

    I have tried this, but it does not fit the bill

    As advised earlier, there is no progress indication available at the time of submission. We understand your form usually takes a little while to upload files and complete submission however currently there is no way to identify the submission progress.

    Hi,

    Agreed, no problem at all when loading the files (Upload a file), the problem is when you click on the “Submit” button, there is no progress indicator when the files are being uploaded to JotForm/Dropbox.

    Your users cannot submit the form if the upload has not been completed. Kindly check my screencast for my test below:
