Ability to enable the form for testing purposes and have it disabled for users

    Hi there

Not sure if this is the right place for requests, but here goes! When I am testing my forms, I sometimes quickly want to try/test something to see if it works, but I have a few issues with this.

    1) The form needs to be enabled
This means my users can also access the form when I am testing, which is not ideal; it would be good to have a way to disable the form for users, but not me as a tester. (I appreciate I can clone the form for testing, but this adds extra work to my workflow and is not time efficient)

    2) If a field is required, then when testing the form I cannot continue without filling it in. If I am testing something at the end of the form this is a pain. So an option to disable required data when testing would be useful.

    3) To stop unauthorised users of my forms I use URL "queries" (?) that add some data into a hidden field, and if that data is not present then the main form does not show; if these conditions are active I cannot easily preview the form. I know I can disable conditions, but it would also be useful for a quick "disable all conditions" options (my forms have a LOT of conditions)

    Thanks for listening!

    Query 1:

Are you referring to testing a live form? I'm afraid that disabling a form for user and enabling it for you cannot be done at the same time. Either a form can be disabled or it can be enabled.

The only possible way is to clone your form. While cloning, all your conditions and workflow will remain the same. The only edit that you may need to do in the cloned form is to check the email settings and reintegrate any apps(that requires verification or has any link to an external website) added into the form.

I have moved your queries 2 & 3 to the threads below, so that they can be handled separately:

    Hi Gerard

Thanks for this, I did mention I was aware of form cloning.

I just wanted to point out that this might be a useful feature - as I say, there is a risk involved with keeping a form "enabled" when it is being tested - but as it NEEDS to be enabled to test it, this is not ideal.

Hence the suggestion that some sort of "test mode" when the form is disabled might prove useful for users (it certainly would for me!)

We appreciate your suggestion. I also think that it would be a nice feature to have, let me forward this feature request to our back-end team. So, if the option to disable the form for users, and enable it  for test mode only is implemented in the future, you will be notified via this forum thread.
