Stoplight Report in Forms

Has anyone tried building a stoplight report in forms? Essentially there would be categories and under each category the user would enter text information and then assign it a designated color, red, green, yellow. Any thoughts on how this could be done?

    Hi @ChassityNeckers,

I believe this can be done using Charts wherein you can customize the color for each category.

The VISUAL REPORT can only be based on the following field types:

    🔘 Drop Down

    🔘 Single Choice (Radio Button)

    🔘 Multiple Choice (Checkbox)

    🔘 Star Rating

    🔘 Scale Rating

    🔘 Grading Widget

    🔘 Slider

    🔘 Input Table

    Hi JohnRex,

The problem I am seeing with that solution is that the user entering the fields of the form is the one who has to put the color association in it. To me, this appears to be something for the backend?

We can forward a feature request to our back-end team however, can you please explain further what kind of report you would like to create and can you please clarify, if the color selection is automatic? You would have just to select a color and assign it to to a column or data?

    Looking forward for your response.

    Hi,

What I am trying to create is a form where the user could see a field and select "red, yellow, green" and ideally they could see a color association with it. Our grant committee would look at the stoplight report to notice if there are any red or what categories have a yellow. So this is more a measure for our committee to quicky access in review but the input of status (red, yellow, green) has to be entered by the user (the person what has received the grant).

I'll add a screenshot of what we currently use in Excel. For example: Under the field category "deliverables", I'd like the user to be able to input green. But when I pull the report for our committee to review I need them to see a quick chart of all these categories with their colors associated as they were entered.

To clarify, do you want to create an excel sheet like form and allow users to add colors depending on the status of the data?

The only way to add colors inside the form is by using CSS.

Or do you want your form data to show as an excel report that you can add color status?

We will wait for your response.

    Thanks!

To answer your question, yes I'd like the user to add the color similar to the excel sheet because that would be preferred.

However, if there is a way for the user to input the color associations as their field answer and then when I pull the report the colors show up that works too. It could become complex if I have to manually assign the colors to each field.

Unfortunately, it is not possible for the user to manually input a color to a field.

You can however, set the color of the field using CSS.

    Here is a sample form:https://form.jotform.com/92874653839980

Then you can use the visual report my colleague has suggest which you can edit the color of the data charts.
