Purchase Order will not caculate or work until the page is refreshed. Web Designer needs help ASAP

Asked by dclempa on April 15, 2013 at 05:40 AM

I am first time user and I want to become a paying customer with up to 1000

submissions. I am a web designer and I am designing a website with Xara
for  a distributing company. I designed a Purchase Order which is located at the following URL address below
. The form will not calculate the
total and will not work unless the page is refreshed. Then everything works great. Images load with no problem but Go Daddy looked at the website files from their
end and they told me that the problem has to be with your java script code. The form works great when previewing in your site. I only have the one page on the website
with just this one form with nothing else. Please help ASAP, I spent hours designing this

form. I tried all your embedding links and nothing worked. I also read your fourm and found nothing.

    Thanks Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

Your form doesn't even display properly on Chrome on its initial load, it displays only the upper part of the form and nothing else. This is mostly caused by code conflicts. If you like iframe embedding, this might help fixed it. Here's How to get your Form's Iframe Code.

Let us know if this doesn't help. Thank you!

How can there be code conflicts unless they are on your end. The only thing I have is a blank page with the

form on it which links to your site. Everything work ok viewing on your internal site but when you come

from outside to your site something is happening. I see alot of poeple with the same problem. I am a web

designer and your service could be very useful if the form work. Please advise me so I know what to do.

    Thanks Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

First off, I'd suggest to resize this image on your form. This should minimize the slowness of your form on it's initial load.

http://www.boernewebdesigning.com/mini/P1283_50.png this is one of the product image on your form.

Second, can you please try to use normal captcha instead of reCaptcha? Check this if changes helps.

Actually I wasn't able to replicate this issues on my own form, it seems like a form specific issue but I could not tell which specificically the part causes this. I just made some few tests and it seems like captcha and this huge image could be one of the reason why.

    Please update us. Thank you!

I am sorry about bit image. I missed that. It was 5.5 megabytes. I reduced it to 42 KB's.

I don't understand about captcha and reCaptcha. This was on the form and I never touched it.

Can you explain what to do.

    Thanks Dennis

I did both resized image and changed it to captcha and it still does not work. Load fast but does not work unless refreshed.

    Hi Dennis,

It probably have to do with your websites backend configurations.

I copied your web page entire source codes and hosted it on my test site here

    https://shots.jotform.com/jonathan/webtest/TestPurchaseOrder.html

When I test the web page it work just fine. Even the purchse order field, work just fine.

Please double check if some settings is blocking you page in loading properly.

Also, you should try re-embedding the form using its iframe code  as already suggested by my colleage.

Please continue updating us should the issue persists.

    Thanks.

What backend configurations? Xara Web Designer 7 is what I am using for designing web site. This form is the only thing on page. I am using the
placeholder and putting the IFrame code in the body of page. I also tried putting the code in the head of the page. Nothing works. I just got off the
phone with my client of this website and it would not work for him without refreshing the page.

The form may be working for you because you are within your own website perimeters. Xara program is suppose to support your form software.
What is the page break? Maybe there is too much information on one page to load and could be split into two pages. Is this a possibility because I am lost.

Please advise. I will be here until this can be resolved.

    Thanks Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

Though not 100% sure, but I think you have just fixed your issue.

I was able to properly use the form in your website http://www.proctordistributing.com/ without doing the "browser refresh" process.

Can you please check and test again on your end. Try clearing your browser cache first also.(although I did not do that on my end)

Inform us if the issue remains.

    Thanks.

The issue is not fixed. It will work once you refresh and then it will keep working as long as it is cached. If you clear your cache of
temporary internet files it will not work without refreshing page.

    Hi Dennis,

    Please try using this codes;

    <iframe id="JotFormIFrame" allowtransparency="true" src="//www.jotform.us/form/30987304352152" frameborder="0" style="width:100%; height:3923px; border:none;" scrolling="no"></iframe>

    Or, you may consider this workaround;

    1. Get your Form Source Codes: How to Get Form Source Codes

    2. Paste the source codes on any Text Editors you have and save as HTML File

    3. Upload this HTML File to your server

    4. Embed this HTML File as an iframe or frameset, try the codes from Jotform Iframe given above - this codes;

    <iframe id="JotFormIFrame" allowtransparency="true" src="https://shots.jotform.com/welvin/pages/Example.html" frameborder="0" style="width:100%; height:3923px; border:none;" scrolling="no"></iframe>

Change the URL in red text to your own uploaded HTML File.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks

    Welvin

Your are “The Man” LOL. I think that the problem is solved. For some reason the script has to work within the website perimeters
so I did as you said and used Dreamweaver to create html page with the source pasted into the page. Uploaded it to server an used
the iframe script to point to the html page.

Thanks, you guy were great for sticking with me and helping me. I am going to be signing up as paid customer. This form should transfer
or whatever to paid plan, right?

    Thanks again, Dennis

No, nothing will happen to your form even when you upgrade/downgrade your account. It will stay on your account as it is.
