Page Break Function Not Behaving Consistently

    Hi,

Just to advise. The Page Break function is most useful for navigation on mobile forms.

Unfortunately I have come across a regularly occurring but inconsistent bug as follows:

On page load the Page break function doesn't work. The effect is that the whole form is shown and one is unable to add to the fields. It's as if the javascript function (or whatever) fails to do its thing.

I note that whenever a page loads with page break function, for a split second, one can see the whole lot on the page and then it renders properly. In the event of the problem - it seems to stick without moving to the final render

I thought it might be a page load problem and so added some "refresh after a second" code in the body tag.

Sorry I haven't an example of this. Because of this problem I changed tack and started using form collapse as I was pushed for time.

Page break needs a test - better knowing than not, eh?

    Regards Mark

    Hi Mark,

Thank you for promptly sharing this issue with us. To help us investigate this concern, can you tell us which form in your account (if it is still available) is experiencing this problem? Does it happen only when you open the form through your mobile device, how about through a computer? What device/s and browsers did you use that exhibited this problem?

Based on your response, we'll try to replicate the issue and pinpoint what could be causing this apparent bug. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you for usign JotForm!

When I have a moment I'll do some testing and try to reproduce the error. I'll come back shortly. i noticed the problem in both Chrome & safari on the Iphone 4.

    I'll come back to you.

    Hi,

Page breaks are made possible by using JavaScript. Multi-page forms aren't really multi-paged but rather a single form whose pages are hidden by JavaScript functions. Unfortunately, not all browsers are created equal, even moreso with mobile browsers.

Even up to now, there is not a single procedure on how JavaScript is executed by different browsers thus making some functions work differently. I apologize if that hindered you from using page breaks on your sites. We understand your concern.

Please let us know if you have further questions. Thank you for using Jotform.

    Regards,
    Neil

    Thanks Neil,

The browsers I test in are: IE8, Chrome, FF, Opera & on the mobile platforms for Iphone, Android, Mini Opera.

I reproduced the error inconsistently across most of these - unfortunate to say. I tried stripped down versions of the form if | recall but still had the error crop up.

My conclusion was that I could not rely on the function to behave consistently.

As a consquence, there is a quality control issue that I cannot ignore and with great regret cannot use the function in a market environment. Shame as it ports to  the needs of mobile development for forms.

I must add that I do not have the same problem with other form builders on this one.

    Thanks for your response

This problem has been fixed now. In order to see the fix, you should go to form builder and re-save your form. it will update the cached forms.

    Thanks for pointing this out.
