Asked by ctamyna on April 17, 2013 at 03:16 AM

    Hello Jotform,

    I just recently created a form - http://form.jotformpro.com/form/31008669039961

I tested it and the form was submitted even there's no need to fill in required question.

Can you please assist me with this matter asap?

    Thank you,
    Amar

    Hi Amar,

I could not reproduce the same scenario on my end.

When I tried to click on the submit button without filling in anything on your form http://form.jotformpro.com/form/31008669039961 , I got all reds.

I could no proceed to submit your form.

Can you provide us more details on how you did it?

Was this form embedded instead on a website? Tell us the URL of the website where we can test the form.

    Please update us.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jonathan,
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
I'll try to explain as much as possible and all the tests we've done:
What we've did was that we've created multiple forms with a captcha and
embedded it in a website (www.strangerstour.asia/malaysia.html). When we
were testing just now, we left all the fields empty including the captcha.
And this is what came out:
And after filling in that box, the submission went through.
Another time we tested by not filling any fields except the captcha, and
the submission processed and showed us the thank you page.
After removing the captcha, the validation seems to work.
Also, for you to note, we have a few forms that is more or less the same,
we cloned it and just make some minor changes to it.
After we removed the captcha from one of the forms, the other similar forms
seems to be slightly more stable, less percentage of the validation error,
but still, there are times the validation still do not work/surpassed.
And lastly, we removed all the captchas from all the forms, and now it
seems to work better. Though, after spamming the form and observing it,
there's still like a 1/30 possibility of the same bug occured (validation
    surpassed).
We are not sure if indeed the captcha is the root of the bug since we do
not do any intensive testing and sometimes, theres a really small
percentage that it actually works just fine with the captcha. But hopefully
this information will point you to the real problem.
    Thanks.

Truly sorry, I missed seeing that you have already provided the URL of your website here http://www.strangerstour.asia/malaysia.html I could have tested it already on my initial response. Sorry for that.

Now, I have tested again the form embedded on your website, and I got same correct result.

So, it must be the captcha field that is causing the initial problem.

Would it be OK with you if you put back the captcha field on this form on your website? We can do further testing with the captcha field available.

If in case the captcha field is still presenting you issues, can you also set to ON the re-captcha property of the captcha field? This usually fix issues with the default captcha field.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jonathan,
Thanks. But the form is currently active and expecting a lot of people will
be referring to it use the form. Can we continue the testing after that
instead? I don't want to mess things up at times like this. We should be
done by around 8th of May. I'll help you out with the testing after that.
    Thanks again!
