    Send Notification To Email Field?

    Asked by StudioBe on April 17, 2013 at 05:32 PM

    Is it possible to add a field tag like "{email}" into the "Recipient E-mail" section of a notification?  I am trying to avoid setting up auto responders for all the different notifications we have for one particular form. I would much rather add a “email” field to the form and then have the proper notification sent to that email address along with the rest of the emails in the  "Recipient E-mail" section of the notification. Thanks!

    Like can I add a {email2} to that "Recipient E-mail" section?

    Unfortunately No, that is not going to work. It will still send and the tag will show up but it won't populate with the data there since it is not designed that read that way for the recipient section.

    I'm not quite sure that I completely understand your intention behind avoiding the use of an Autoresponder out of this either? But from what I do know if I am understanding you correctly basically you just want to send this notification directly to the person that fills in your form instead of you. This is what the Autoresponder was made for so it is recommended to work this way the best

    I want to send a copy of the form the email address that’s entered into the form under the "Email" field. Problem is that there are 10 different notifications. The notification that’s send is based off of how the form is filled out. So I would have to create 10 different auto responders for the same criteria. Lots of work!! Any other suggestions? If the tag wont populate the email address how come it will from an auto responder? In an auto responder, you select the field and it populates the tag right?

    Pardon my last response but one of my more experienced colleagues has pointed out that I was incorrect about this so I deeply apologize for my mistake. Anyhow so I tested this further some more and found that it will work but only to a certain extent depending on how you've configured your email.

    We were able to get it to work using a valid email address for this when testing it further.

    The best thing to do would be to just play around with it so you can still try it and see what works for you when testing it as your own to see what will work for you since it may be slightly finicky.

    So, if I put for example sake "{email}" into an existing condition it should work? So my conditions look like this: If ____ is ____ then send ___ to fakeemail@email.com, anotherfakeemail@email.com, {email}. This should work?

    Also, I cant set up an auto responder because instead of looking like it came from the person filling out the form it can only be sent from one particular set email address. Make sense? But if I use a regular notification, a field can be selected to say where the notification is coming from. Like say "person filling out this form" field.

    Conditional logics work either on Notifications or Autoresponders. You would need to setup 1 or more autoresponders to accomplish what you are looking for so it will send the autoresponder to whatever email address has been entered into the email address field

    Same scenaro applies for Notifications. You can even have more than one email variable field into the conditon separated by a comma.

    Then Send NOTIFICATION (or Autoresponder) email  to {yourEmail16},{Email2}, {Email3}

    You can also add more than one rule

    IF _ field _______
