I would like my forms numeric fields to force showing up the numeric keypad in iOS. The forms I use are mainly opened on iOS devices, therefore I would really like the numeric keypad on the iPad to show up as soon as you reach a field that can only contain numbers.
Is there any way to do this?

Unfortunately, there is no option to do this. I will try to submit this to our feature request list and hopefully, our developers can integrate this in the future.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I did manage to achieve this by changing the input type of the field from "text" to "number".
This does require to modify the source code, but it works :)
Maybe your developers can make sure that when a field is set to numeric content as validation, that this forces a "number" input type?

Thank you for updating us. And we're glad to know that you were able to find a work around using the source code.
BUT did you know also that, you do not have to use the source code to change the validation property of a text box field from text/char type to numeric type?
The validation property of a textbox input field does this already. You only have to specify the data type you want the field to accept.
So, if you set the textbox field to numeric, even though it is not yet capable of calling the numeric keypad.. the form will not be able to submit without correcting the validation issue on the textbox field. This will force the form user to always use the correct type of data to input.
My colleague moonzkie already submitted a request feature using your suggestion.
You will be notified via this thread once new updates about this feature is available.

My idea was to help out the user by showing a contextual aware keypad. So it's not really about validating the input, but more about supporting the input when it's actually done.
Thanks for your reply!

You are right on spot, on the contextual awareness idea. That is much better indeed.
Thank you for explaining further.

I have cancelled your request because the Number field (under Quick Tools) already does this. Number fields have the attribute type="number", so everytime it gets focus on a mobile device, the numeric keypad automatically comes up.
Please let us know if you have other questions or concerns.
