How can I set up a large fill-in box (about 2000 characters) so it and the text description above it spans the entire width of the form?

Asked by MartyG on April 10, 2011 at 02:19 PM

My text description is long (about two-times the width of the form).  I would like the fill-in box itself to be deep on the form (about 3 inches) so the user can see all the text they are typing when typing. See attached PDF example.

    Hello,

Use the text area for filling up long texts.  You can find this under Form Tools

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Please be more descriptive with you answer. My text description is long (about two-times the width of the form).  I would like the fill-in box itself to be deep on the form (about 3 inches) so the user can see all the text they are typing when typing. I would like both the description on top of the box to be two lines long (one line on top of another line the entire width of the box below it), and I would like the fill-in box itself to be deep. Please see the graphic example in my original question. Thanks.

    Hello Marty,

I think I misunderstood your inquiry.  I thought you were just looking for a text field that can do multiple lines as what you meant by fill-in box going deep into the form.

Anyway the fill-in box that you're talking about is called a text area.

To be able to put the description on top of the text area, you will need to click the properties tab of the text area field

Once you're on the properties tab, Click on Label Align and select Top

After that, the description of your text area will be on top.  This will make it look like the same from the screenshot that you have provided.

    Hope this helps.
