    Hey,

i want to create a list of questions for people.  Lets say its 50 questions.  These questions are eg:

Click the box if you ever feel stressed.

Click the box if you ever feel hungry.

Of course not everyone feels stressed.  Not everyone feels hungry.  So want i want to create is a list of 50 questions that will automatically calculate how many boxes were checked/ticked at the end of the list.

    How do i do this?

    Thanks

    marty

Yes it is possible to achieve your requirement by taking advantage of our "Calculation Value" feature and "Form Calculation" widget. Here are the steps you need to follow:

#1. Add single choice field for all your questions.

#2. Set calculation values for single choice question options. Say your question "Click the box if you ever feel stressed." has two options i.e. "Yes" & "No". You can set calculation value 1 for yes and 0 for no. The following guide should help you how to assign calculation values: https://www.jotform.com/help/301-How-to-Assign-Calculation-Value

#3. Add "Form Calculation" widget in form and add all the single choice questions you have added in form. The following guide should help you: https://www.jotform.com/help/259-How-to-Perform-Form-Calculation-Using-a-Widget

When user answers in form, form calculation widget will automatically calculate the value and display the sum of all answered fields.

Please take a look at the following demo form I created for you and see if it works as expected: https://form.jotform.com/200103289157045

Feel free to clone this form for a closer look. The following guide should help you in form cloning:  https://www.jotform.com/help/42-How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL

    Hope this helps.

    Hey,
    Thanks for that…
I have create 7 different categories with several option in each category. I used checkbox option so they could choose multiple options within each category.
I assigned the values to each and it works well in calculating the total.
The only problem is that when i got to ‘Fill Form’, the first box of every category is already ‘checked’.
When i go into the part where you can determine ’selection by default’, it says that i have nothing selected.
See photo attached. What am i missing?

    Hello Marty,

I presumed that you are referring to this form: https://www.jotformeu.com/form/93066147930358. Am I correct?

If so, I can't find any calculations created and categories as mentioned. Also, we're unable to view the image you sent. Could you please re-post it to this thread so we could check? Here's a guide on How-to-Post-Screenshots-to-Our-Support-Forum.

It would be great if you could also provide the link to the form you're working on as well.

    Hey,

Here is the problem mention in the email.

I have 7 category with multiple check boxes.  I have selected in the Advance tab to not have anything preselected.  But when i go into the 'FILL FORM' part, boxes are already selected.

    How do i fix this?

I just tried opening your form but was not able to replicate the issue. Probably cache issue.

Could you please try accessing the form on a different browser and see if it makes any difference?

Also, you can try to disable the AutoComplete feature in the FORM SETTINGS and see if that resolves it:
