Can I use a forwarding address with SMTP?

I contacted GoDaddy to find out the SMTP information for sending Jotform emails via SMTP, and encountered a number of questions.

The email address I want to use is a forwarding address, not an actual email account. Can I do that? If so, it's not clear what the "username" and "password" are, as there are none for forwarding addresses. (In fact, I'm not sure there's a username for actual email accounts either.)

It's also not clear whether to choose SSL or not. GoDaddy says I have to ask Jotform about that. And the port number depends on whether it's SSL or not.

Can someone help me with all this?

I'm not sure if that will work but you can give it a try. I believe your username is your email address and its password, it's usually the account you used to login to your webmail. You can ask for clarification with your SMTP provider.

It depends on whether your SMTP supports SSL. You should check your SMTP credentials on your SMTP provider. It usually comes with an instruction on what to use either TLS, SSL and what port number. This might be of help: https://ph.godaddy.com/help/mail-server-addresses-and-ports-for-business-email-24071
