Zapier Twilio SMSAsked by rupertg on May 07, 2013 at 09:37 PM
In my form, there is a mobile phone number field.
Typically, the mobile number of my clients in my country is 0410444666, 0421123456 etc It is a 10 digit number
However, i have integrated twilio and zapier but these services only seem to be able to send sms to
61410444666 instead of 0410444666 and 61421123456 instead of 0421123456
I want this sms to be sent automatically but without converting it in the required format, i cannot send automatic sms.
How can i resolve this issue so that my sms are sent automatically.
Unfortunately, Currently JotForm has no SMS Features, But You May accomplish this through your Service Provider SMS Gateway. See Here For Further Details http://www.jotform.com/answers/137087-sms-service
I have been successful in integrating Zpier and third party to send sms successfully to myself using jotform. This is because, i have entered the mobile number according to the format.
However, inorder for the clients to receive sms, they need to have the number in the correct format. I dont want the clients to worry about the formatting of the number, i just want them to enter their normal mobile number, i was hoping to achieve it via jotform.
Hi again rupertg,
check here for how to download the source code of your form https://www.jotform.com/help/104-How-to-get-your-Form-Source-Code
after downloading insert the given below script under your header tag
number = number.replace(/^04/g,'614');
once you embeded, goto to that number filed and call this method using onblur() as shown below
<input type="text" id="id_of_number_field" onblur="formatNumber(this.value)"/>
Hope it helps you, above given code is just for sample and you have to change the id of the field that is given in your form.
After this, whenever user enters the number and click outside the field the number will change automatically to the above specified format.

Feel free to ask any further queries, i even ready to explain it with some screen shots provided your form url.
THANKS for the support BUT
I have some issue with this.
The issue is, I will be changing the dates every now and then.
Currently, i am using iframe to display my form on my site. However, if i use "source code" then i will have to manually edit the source code in order to change any dates in the future.
With iframe, i have been changing dates at jotform backend and is easy and smooth, i even do it via my mobile sometimes.
However, if i replace my iframe code with html source code then i will have problems in changing the dates.
Please advise any alternatives.
I have tested this function and it seems they don't allow formatting with common numbers. It needs you to put international formatted numbers. Unfortunately, the only way you can make it working is to ask your user to provide international number (Country Code + Number).
I guess they have to do it this way because of area codes concern.
Thanks, i have resolved this temporarily.
Great to know that! Let us know if you need our help again.
I have the same problem now. Could you please explain me how did you solve it?
I would really aprecuate it
Kindly create a new thread for your issue so that we may be able to provide you assistance, this way we can avoid any confusion with what has already been discussed on this thread, Thank you.
