Date Format Issues

Please could you help as we are experiencing problems with the date format on our data as follows:

When you download to Excel, the dates are changed to American format – mm-dd-yy, even though we changed the date format on the forms to dd-mm-yy.


There are several examples of dates appearing differently on form submissions in comparison to the Excel data.  For example, a date of 01-03-2014 is on the form and Excel is showing 15-1-2013.  There is no logic for this.

The data is not fit for purpose and we would appreciate some guidance.

The format of your account is "ISO 8601 - YMD".

Can you please try to change it to "EU-Asia - DMY"?

Please change the format in your account and then clear your Form Cache and test again. In order to clear the Form Cache, you can follow this guide:

Hi I have changed the settings and cleared the cache data but it still wont download to excel correctly!! I have even logged out and logged back in but no different……. HELP!!

I saw that you reported the same issue on this thread https://www.jotform.com/answers/2157337 and on that thread, I saw that the issue is related to the Date of Birth field, so I assume that the issue is related to this form - https://www.jotform.com/form/200283090010335

I downloaded your data as Excel, but as far as I can see the date format is correct (dd-mm-yyyy).

We had an issue with the Date Picker field in downloaded Excel reports, but this issue was resolved by our developers today. Please download your data again and check if the issue is resolved. If the issue is still not resolved provide us a screenshot of the issue and tell us to which submissions is the issue related to.

Where to Find the Submission ID?

Hello.  The problem we are having is that one of the date of birth submitted is 23-09-2013, and it appears correctly before you download, however when you download to Excel, the date changes to 09-11-2014!

Are you referring to the following form: 200343858263354 ?

Does it happen only with this submission?

If it happens only with this submission, you can try to manually edit it in Excel.
