How to make certain form is filled out in correct format.

Asked by cramerf on May 16, 2013 at 10:10 AM

How can I have the form check if the date is in the MMDDYYYY format?

I have used the birthday date picker.  I have modified month and day reordered the years in the source code.  My problem is that in the e-mails sent it returns the date as 05 22 2013.  How to I remove the saces and replace with dash like 05-23-2013.

I did choose this format, but it is letting people use dates such as M/D/yyyy which is not acceptable.

some do not use the date picker.
Some prefer to enter a date format as they please.

I see what you mean and yes that is true that technically you can manually fill this in. It seems to me that if I am understanding your problem correctly you are looking to apply some type of method to physically validate this to prevent it from becoming a further issue.

    Example of Wrong/Invalid Date Input:

    www.healthcare.uiowa.edu_training_cuihc500_production_Vacation_Vacation.html - Google Chrome

A suggestion to prevent this you can see on this on this Example Form which will allow more control over the Date & Time input so that they are actual instead of partial.
